The book is priced at €10 and will be
available to purchase from Triskel. The official
launch of the book takes place the following day.
The Cork Branch of the Western Front Association in partnership with Triskel Arts Centre will present an evening of remembrance in music, song and story to remember the 4,000 servicemen with Cork connections who died fighting in the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations in the Great War of 1914-18.

The evening will feature the Barrack Street Band, the Irish Great War Society and vocalist Niamh O’Sullivan. A major exhibition of artefacts and other memorabilia from the Great War will also be on display.

Triskel will also have copies of their brand-new book For Their Country: The Great War Dead of Christ Church Parish on sale on the night. Written by two well-known local historians, this illustrated 80-page book tells the story of the 33 men from Christchurch parish who died. They are commemorated on two marble plaques either side of a beautiful memorial window in Christchurch and the book includes details of where they are buried.

Venue:
Triskel Christchurch.
Time: 7.30pm.
Tickets to the evening event are priced at €10. Bookings.
All proceeds go towards Cork Penny Dinners.
